Biography

This is my fourth year teaching at Westwood and my fifth year teaching in Mesa Public Schools.  I am the daughter of two high school teachers--one at Dobson and one in Scottsdale.  I grew up in the Scottsdale School District and graduated from Chaparral High School.  Wanting a change of scenery, I moved to Flagstaff to attend Northern Arizona University, where I studied Secondary English Education with a minor in Biology.  I then spent a year teaching in Scottsdale.  Despite the fact that I grew up in Scottsdale, my first time in front of  a class was in Mesa (before I was even born!) and I loved it so much I decided to return.  I spent a year teaching Biology as a mustang at Dobson before finding my warrior spirit and making my way to Westwood, where I found my home!  After three years of teaching English here, I decided I missed the science classroom and switched back to Biology.

Outside of school, I train and teach martial arts, spend plenty of time playing with my cat and dog, and read and write whenever I can.  I also love telling people about how awesome my students are! :)
