Now in my third year teaching at Westwood, I teach the Honor Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Percussion, Marching Band and Jazz Band.  I received my Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Utah in Trumpet Performance, and a Master of Music degree from the University of Arizona (Bear Down!) in Instrumental Conducting.

I have directed and instructed music programs on both the high school and collegiate level for over twenty years, during which time my responsibilities have included directing and/or assisting with as Department Chair, all aspects of a Performing Arts curriculum.

Throughout my teaching tenure, symphonic groups under my direction have consistently received superior performance ratings; and marching bands, winter guard and winter percussion programs have each captured State Championships, most recently last year with Westwood’s first State Championship in Marching Band.  I have also helped guide a Winter Percussion Ensemble to a Silver Medal at the Winter Guard International Championships, and spent several summers as an instructor for the nineteen-time Drum Corps International World Champion, Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps.

With years of experience as a band member, instructor, and director, I am both committed to and enthusiastic about the benefits of music for the individual students, as well as for the atmosphere of a high school community, and look forward to meeting any new challenges that we may encounter along the way.
