Mr. Daniel Medill

Mr. Dan Medill was born and raised in south central Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Wyoming for two years as an Animal Science major. Transferring to Messiah College, in Pennsylvania, he receive a BA in Bible. He then attended Susquehanna University, also in Pennsylvania, receiving a Biology/General Science teaching certificate. He taught middle school science for eleven years in Pennsylvania.
The next ten years he worked for Frontiers, a mission agency. Six of these years were spent living in Central Asia. He came to Mesa to work at Frontiers' head quarters in 2004.
In 2007 Mr. Medill went back into teaching, accepting a position of seventh grade Integrated Science teacher at Smith Junior High where he taught for 3 years. 2020-2021 will be his eleventh year at Westwood.
Biology is the study of life. This includes the characteristics of living things, how we group living things, ecology, genetics, cells, growth, processes necessary for life, such as respiration and photosynthesis and other topics as well.
Environmental Science is the study of how people interact with their environment. It
relies heavily on ecology, but includes all kinds of disciplines, both scientific and non-scientific.
