Biography

I am originally from Bakersfield, CA where I attended West High School where I played baseball and was active in the debate team.  I began my undergraduate studies at Towson University just outside of Baltimore, MD where I attended on a debate team scholarship. While at Towson, I gained national recognition in debate, winning numerous tournaments and awards including the United States Military Academy at West Point's debate tournament on three occasions, the Eastern Regional Debate Championship twice, and was named to the All-American Debate Team as a junior. I completed my undergraduate degree in Political Science at California State University, Long Beach in which I maintained an active role on the debate team as a member and a coach. Soon after attaining my degree from Long Beach State I began my teaching career at Chaminade College Prep in West Hills, CA.  After moving to Arizona I began working in the Florence Unified School District where I held positions as an academic counselor and teacher.  Most recently I was at Poston Butte High School in San Tan Valley, where I served as a history teacher and the head varsity softball coach.

I am incredibly excited to be here at Westwood High School and look forward to achieving goals of student learning and engagement!
