Every year, we look forward to connecting with our community at the Westwood Social Powwow. Thanks to many of you in the powwow community, in the past two years, we've had our largest number of vendors and guest sharing our spirit of love through dance and song. But given the growing concerns around COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the 17th Annual Westwood Social Powwow, March 21, 2020.
This was a tough call to make -- the Westwood Powwow is an incredibly important event for the community gathering people throughout the state and from other states. The Powwow is one of our Native American Clubs favorite ways to celebrate with all of you -- but we need to prioritize the health and safety of our Art & Craft vendors, Food Vendors, volunteers and employees and everyone who help makes this Powwow successful.
We remain committed to the city of Mesa, where we’ve hosted the powwow at Westwood High School for the past 16 years. Our students and club sponsor work tirelessly through the school year preparing for the Powwow.
Because of the uncertainty of Covid-19 there are no plans to postpone the date. In the meantime, thank you for your patience and understanding -- and we look forward to seeing you at the 2021 Westwood Social Powwow.
