Biography

Coach James Smith has been coaching for 17 years at the Community College, High School, and Club level. Coach Smith is a level 2 USA Track & Field (USATF) certified coach, Masters level USATF certified official, and AIA certified official. He is also currently the USATF AZ Masters Chairman and Head Coach for Arizona Flames Track Club.

Coach Smith is the Head Track & Field Coach at Westwood. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from DeVry University in Phoenix. He worked for 20 years in Logistics management in the semiconductor field.

Coach Smith is still an avid track competitior and has competed at national and world championships. His track club has produced State, Region, and National champions and record holders. He is a business owner, married and has 2 children.
