Dear Westwood Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to CTE!

As an East Coast transplant to Arizona, I moved to Mesa in 2004 and have made this state my home. I have a background in banking and finance with an associates from Penn State University. As an older, twenty-something adult, I switched careers and went back to school to become a professional chef. I graduated with honors from Arizona Culinary Institute in 2006 with a degree in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pasty, and Restaurant Management. Working in the food service industry for eight years allowed me to hone my skills and became specialized in catering. I was the catering director for AJ's Fine Foods in Mesa, AZ for a number of years before moving to education. 

This is my ninth year in education and have been in Mesa Public Schools the entire time, teaching at both Westwood and Dobson High Schools. In addition to teaching the Advanced Culinary Arts and Catering & Special Events courses here at Westwood, I am also the coordinator for our IB Career-related Program on campus, and the FCCLA/Culinary Club adviser.

This year I will be celebrating 19 years of marriage to my husband and biggest 'cheerleader', Rick. And have a son, Drew, who is a freshman in high school.
