AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination and is a junior high through senior high school college readiness system designed to prepare self-determined students for college readiness.The AVID Elective class is designed to support students as they enroll in rigorous courses. In the AVID Elective class, students receive training in effective study skills, such as note taking, organizational skills, and goal-setting strategies.
AVID Elective Elements:
- Two AVID Tutorials per week using the AVID Tutorial Request Form (TRF)
- Focused Note Taking in each class (15 pages every two weeks)
- Binder Checks
- Professional Dress Days
- Service Learning
- College and Career Readiness Activities
