“Almost any type of student involvement in school positively affects student learning and development. Extracurricular activities provide a setting to become involved and to interact with other students, thus leading to increased learning and enhanced development” (Tenhouse 2019).
Activities and Athletics work hand in hand to find avenues for students to find their home at Westwood. Whether they join the football, track, or badminton team through Athletics, or they join the D&D club, the Bring Change to Mind Club, or Little Warriors through Activities, we know that engagement outside the classroom will have a positive impact on their work in the classroom. In short--students who are involved do better in school.
