Biography

Welcome Westwood families!

My name is Kelley Hinds-Dooley and I am very excited to be working with you this school year! I would like to let you know a little bit about myself; I am originally from Northern California, but moved to Arizona thirteen years ago. I Went to Mesa Community College and then transferred to Arizona State University where I earned a bachelors degree in education and a bachelors degree in History. A few years later I decided to get my Masters in teacher leadership from Walden University.

This will be my eighth year teaching. I started my career teaching junior high. I am going on my fifth year at Westwood and have enjoyed every moment. I have taught AVID and IB World history. I am currently teaching American history and am the GradPoint credit recovery program lead teacher. I will also be teaching our IB Career Program Personal and Professional Skills class in the spring. I love taking on new challenges and continuing to grow in everything I teach.

Besides my classes I have the pleasure of being the IB Personal Project coordinator and I work with students in the IB Mentor Club, where we are able to mentor all grade levels, especially the freshman and we promote a positive learning environment for all students. I enjoy teaching history, but I specifically enjoy working with students to help them succeed. I am looking forward to another great school year here at Westwood!
