High School Teaching Experience
Mr. Wilson is currently in his fourteenth year in the math department at Westwood High School. He teaches four periods of MA42 College Algebra/Trigonometry and one period of AP Calculus (AB). Mr. Wilson has taught Geometry, Algebra 2, Personal Finance and Math Standards. Before joining the Westwood Math Department, Wilson taught physical education (K – 12) for ten years at the La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego, California.
High School Coaching Experience
Coach Wilson served as the Westwood High School Boy’s Basketball coach for six seasons from 2006 through 2012. Before coming to Westwood, Wilson served 10 years as the head basketball coach at La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego, California. While at Country Day, Coach Wilson’s teams collected 184 wins vs. 97 losses, 18 wins per season, 10 consecutive trips to the CIF playoffs, 7 appearances in the CIF semi-finals, 4 trips to the championship game, and 2 CIF championships.
College Coaching Experience
Before coaching at La Jolla Country Day, Wilson was an assistant coach for 10 years at the collegiate NCAA Division I level. He spent three years at the University of Idaho and two years at the University of New Orleans working for former Chicago Bulls and current University of Texas-El Paso Coach Tim Floyd. He also spent five years at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama working for former Louisiana State University (2006 NCAA Final Four Participant) and current Arkansas State Coach John Brady. Wilson has over 31 years of coaching experience.
