I am beyond excited to be the Assistant Principal in charge of Athletics here at Westwood High School. Even though I am new to the Administration team this year, this is my sixth year overall at Westwood. I have so loved my time here over the past five years and see this new role as an opportunity to expand my sphere of influence to help even more students progress in their personal, academic, and athletic interests.
I have dedicated myself to being a life long learner. Originally from South Carolina, I graduated in 1995 from Chapin High School. After serving a two-year mission for my church, I graduated from College of Charleston in Charleston, SC in 2003 with my BS in Anthropology. I took a year off to work and travel a bit, but went back to school to complete my Master of Social Work degree from Arizona State University in August of 2007. After working in the helping professions field for quite a while, I decided to make a slight adjustment to my career path and pursue a career in public education. This is what brought me to Westwood, where I again went back to school and completed my second masters degree, this time in Educational Leadership from Capella University in March 2016. I am grateful for the educational opportunities that have come my way and I look forward to continuing to develop a learner and educator.
I have been married to a wonderful lady named Amber for almost 13 years and we have four children, Kaya (11), Sadie (8), Cassidy (5), and Tucker (3). We reside here in Mesa and enjoy what this community has to offer. In my free time, I enjoy road and mountain biking, hiking, travelling, and spending time with my family.
