Shelby Jensen Baldwin was born and raised in Rancho Cucamonga, California; about an hour east of Los Angeles. Taught by top dance professionals in the business, she began training in dance at the age of three at Encore Dance Centre and playing piano at the age of seven. She received the Dancer of the Year Award in 2006, just shortly after being put en pointe in ballet. She then began to assist in different dance classes. She graduated from Los Osos High School with Honors, becoming an alumni at her studio, and began substitute teaching and teaching on her own. She worked for Disneyland seasonally after graduating and started her college career at Arizona State University. During her junior year, she was accepted into the Spring in New York exchange program and spent six months studying at New York University, training with top professionals at American Ballet Theater, Broadway Dance Center, and PMT Dance Studios. She also interned at PMT Studios and alongside her mentor, Jill Rose Jacobs, at NYU. She returned to ASU the following year and graduated in 2013 with her B.F.A. in Dance Education and Performance, a B.A. in English Literature, and a minor certification in Theater. She passed both her Dance and English certifications and has taught in the school system ever since. She often teaches at various dance studios around the Phoenix valley and continues to perform professionally in many musicals and shows. She is represented by Dani's Talent Agency and also works for Storybook Entertainment as a regular performer. This is her first year at Westwood and she is very excited to be a warrior! She looks forward to an exciting year!
