Biography

 Mr. Gates has served as an Assistant Principal at Westwood for the past seven years.  Mr. Gates is primarily responsible for all of the attendance and discipline issues concerning junior students.  He is also the Athletic Director for the Warriors.  As the Athletic Director, he oversees a variety of athletic based areas including but not limited to:  athletic eligibility, coaching staff, game scheduling, athletic facilities, competitions and budget.

This is the 12th year that Mr. Gates has served in the education profession.  He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1998 with a degree is Secondary Social Sciences.  From 1998 to 2003 Mr. Gates taught Social Studies while coaching a variety of sports including volleyball, basketball and track.  He obtained his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University in the spring of 2003, and took his current position at Westwood High School in the summer of 2003.  He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Northern Arizona University.
