Biography                                

KFreezeEquipOriginally from Hawaii, she attended Arizona State University to pursue her college education. She received her degree in Exercise Science and continued her education to receive a teaching certificate in Physical Education through ASU.  She has her English as a Second Language endorsement and also received her Master's Degree from ASU in 2010 in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Teaching English as a SeconParachuted Language.                                

 

She was hired with Mesa Public Schools in 2001 and has been teaching Elementary Physical Education since.  She started teaching at Emerson Elementary and Hale Elementary in 2001, and then transferred over to Whitman Elementary in the 2007-2008 school year.  Cara is really proud to be a Whitman Wildcat and enjoys teaching at this wonderful school.

One of the reasons Cara came into this profession is to show her students that physical activity is fun.  When students learn at an early age how exercise can be fun, it will grow with them and they will become active and healthy adults.  She hopes that her students are active outside of school and continue to be physically active throughout their lifetime.
