Fun Facts About Mrs. Field

I was born in Nebraska but raised around the world!

I graduated from California State UniversityChico with a degree in Education, an emphasis in Art, and an endorsement in ESL (English as a Second Language).  After many years of teaching, I went back to school.  This time I attended Arizona State University, where I graduated with my Masters in Educational Leadership.

I started teaching in 2001.  I've taught Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd3rd, 4th and 5th grades.  I've been a teacher in California, Georgia, Texas, and Arizona!   In 2017, I stepped out of the classroom to become a Title 1 Specialist at Whitman Elementary.

After teaching in Georgia, I traveled to Spain to work.  This is where I met my husband, Ryan.  It's because of Ryan, and the good old military, that my adventure in the HOT and SUNNY state

of Arizona began. I've been living in Arizona, and teaching in Mesa Public Schools, since 2007.

When not "working," I am on the lookout for new places to venture out with my family.  We love to travel and explore together!  Most recently, we took a month long road trip across the United States!  We camped in our tent, occasionally a cabin, and once or twice a hotel.  Fun fact:  I LOVE to camp...  Mr. Field, not so much.  :)

Speaking of family, my husband and I have three beautiful children (9 year old twins and an 8 year old singleton). Our favorite family hobby is riding our bikes, or scooters, all around Phoenix.  We are always looking for somewhere new to ride!  During the summer, we stay close to home and go biking reeeeeeally early in the morning.  When it 's not sweltering out, our current go to spot is the Indian Bend Wash Trail in Scottsdale.

When I have a quiet moment to myself... I read or walk.  I LOVE to read!  I read every single day.  I read picture books and chapter books with my children, magazines to my husband, and pretty much any book, magazine or paper that catches my eye.  Right now I'm doing a lot of professional reading.  I'm reading to learn all about new teaching practices and leadership in schools.

Let's talk sports...  We are a family divided.  I loooooooove the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs.  Depending on the day, my kiddos love them too.  My husband, on the other hand, loves the Arizona Cardinals and the Phoenix Suns.  Sigh.
