Dear Parents of 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th graders,
We are gearing up for our upcoming State AzMERIT exam, for 3rd-6th grade students. Students accross the district and state will take the different components of AzMERIT at varied times during the window of
March 28--May 6th.
March 28--May 6th.
- All 3rd-6th graders will take their Writing, Reading and Math tests on a computer.
- If you have multiple children at Wilson in 3rd-6th grade, please note they could be testing on different dates.
- Each student will test over a total of three days. The first session of testing is in Writing. After students in all grades have finished the writing test, each student will take session one (1) of Reading and Math. When session one (1) is complete students will take session two (2) of Reading and Math. Students must complete the Writing session before they are allowed to access the Reading portion of the test.
- Individual classroom testing schedules are listed on our calendar on the website. It is VERY important that students be in school and on time each of the testing days unless they are ill. Note: if a child starts a test and is pulled out of school early, for any reason, they will NOT be able to return and access the incomplete test and will be unable to finish that part of the test. This will affect their test results. Absent students will be expected to make-up a test they miss.
Teachers have been trained and are doing practice tests with students in the computer lab or by using individual student devices to familiarize them with the computer based format.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher. This is the time for our students to really shine and show what they know. Please encourage your child to do their best.
As always thank you for supporting your child in his/her education!
