Raised in Zion, Illinois, Mr. Nowotarski spent two years of undergraduate study at Trinity Bible College where he met his future wife Melody (a native Arizonan). Tired of shoveling snow, scraping ice off frozen windshields and sitting on cold vinyl car seats he headed to sunny Arizona where he received his BA in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona. He went on to earn his MA from NAU and acquired an additional 60 credit hrs. through Ottawa University.
Mr. Nowotarski has been teaching grades 4 – 6 for the past 30 years – two in Antioch, Illinois, and 28 years in Arizona. This year marks his third year as a fellow Wildcat at Wilson Elementary School. He is appreciative of the warm welcome and kindness he has received from the Wilson Elementary family in making this such a smooth transition. Prior to this, he enjoyed serving 24 years at Falcon Hill Elementary, and one year at Ishikawa Elementary - years he will always treasure. He is very honored to have received several awards including Educator of the Month, Master Teacher, yada yada yada… but is most proud of the growth and success of students who have passed through his classroom and seeing them not settle for mediocrity, but continue to raise the bar of character and achievement for themselves.
Mr. Nowotarski is married. His lovely wife Melody teaches kindergarten in the Chandler School District. Besides classroom teaching he celebrates faith, family & friends, fitness, and Afghan Hounds Graceland & Nash. He is a loyal Wildcat fan who looks forward to each year’s rivalry with ASU.
