Saving and Accessing Files
Saving Options in Mesa Public Schools:
Active Directory Sync
Any files that are saved on the Desktop, Documents & the other folders shown above are saved on district servers. You can access these folders on any MPS computer when you are logged in with your Active Directory credentials. This is called syncing. Only you can see these files.
All of these folders can also be found in the User Data folder on your desktop.
C Drive on the Computer
If you save on the C drive of the computer, those files are only saved locally on that particular computer. They are NOT backed up and synced to the district server.
OneDrive for Business
a.k.a. OneDrive- Mesa Public Schools
1 TB storage (1000 GB)
In addition to storage this gives you access to Office 365 Online, which provides Office programs online and allows you to save and share documents similar to Google Drive. It also uses your Active Directory/MPS Connect login credentials.
This OneDrive storage is separate from the personal OneDrive storage.
One Drive - Personal 15 GB storage
When you sign in to a Microsoft account on your computer you will have access to the OneDrive personal account online storage. It will show up as a folder in the File Explorer on your computer. You can also access it online at onedrive.live.com.
In addition to storage this gives you access to Office 365 Online, which provides Office programs online and allows you to save and share documents similar to Google Drive.
This OneDrive storage is separate from the OneDrive for Business storage.
How to access files on your PC:
In the File Explorer (also called This PC), all files, folders, drives and devices connected to the computer can be accessed.
