Mesa Public Schools Highlights Zaharis!
Zaharis was one of two elementary schools showcased at Mesa Public School's April board meeting. After a warm introduction by Superintendent Michael Cowan, the board viewed a video (below) spotlighting some of the wonderful learning activities occurring here. Afterwards, a few very deserving recipients were recognized for their excellence at Zaharis. Molly Black, a sixth-grader, was named the school's Most Outstanding Student, and will be immortalized with a picture plaque placed on the wall of the Board Room. Lori Scott, a former teacher and incredible presence on campus, was named Most Outstanding Volunteer. The honor of Most Outstanding Teacher was bestowed upon our longtime second grade stalwart and anchor, Jeanie Germaine. She, who is cherished by so many, will be missed by all as she concludes her spectacular teaching career this year. Finally, our beloved Crossing Guard, Stacey Mansell, received the Excellence in Customer Service award. Stacey is so good at making you feel welcome yet simultaneously keeping you safe, you can't help but smile and say hello even when she turns the red octagon your way!
