Reopening Plan and Laptop Distribution
Helllllooo Zaharis Families!
What a wonderful experience it was to gather with 136 of my very closest friends last week during our PTO meeting! We hope that the “Zaharisized” version of the MPS reopening plan reduced the concern a little bit. The PowerPoint we used for the meeting with relevant information is below. Please click on the picture to open it.
Your child will need to have access to a laptop and internet to experience their learning. We will be distributing laptops to students and families who need or want to borrow one on July 27-28 from 7-11:00 am. July 27 last names A-K, July 28 last names L-Z. Picking-up a laptop is not mandatory, but we highly encourage you to do so. Even if you have devices at home, there is added benefit to each child having his or her own dedicated device.
We will be handing out the laptops in a drive-thru format. At pickup, we will be asking families if they have reliable internet access and will have flyers with information about purchasing low-cost internet. Along with their laptop, students will be given instructions for logging on to their laptop, connecting their laptop to WiFi and how to enroll in the Device Protection Plan. Additionally, you will receive instructions for logging in to Canvas, our district learning management system, which is where students will access online learning materials.
We look forward to the day when we return to in-person learning. In the meantime, we will work with you to provide the best remote experience possible.
We miss all of our Soaring Eagles and we can’t wait to see you. Stay safe, healthy, and enjoy your summer.
