Mrs. Carrie Kitchell (formerly Miss Collins)
Welcome to an exciting and challenging fourth grade year! I am eager to begin my fifteenth year at Zaharis and look forward to working closely with you and your child.
I have a Master's Degree from ASU in Elementary Education, and I have been teaching for twenty-one years, both in Arizona and Hong Kong. I have a sweet little boy named Finn, who is the light of my life and keeps me smiling... and busy! He will turn five years old on August 31. I love to travel and have had the opportunity to travel all over the world, including parts of America, Mexico, Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, and Europe. I enjoy spending time at the beach, and snorkeling and scuba diving are two of my favorite things to do on vacation. Scuba diving is a passion I share with my husband, James. In fact, he proposed to me on a dive, 40 feet below the surface! We got married this past summer in the shark tunnel at Sea Life Aquarium.
In my spare time, I like to have fun with my family, go to the movies, build Legos (yes, you read that right... Legos), and travel. I also have lots of fun working on my side business, Jamberry, which is why you'll always notice me sporting fun designs on my nails! This past summer, my family and I had a great time visiting Disneyland, hanging out in the pool, and checking out the local museums around town. In July, James and I went diving for a week in Bonaire!
A few of my favorites:
Food: pizza (my favorite is Oregano's)
Treat: chocolate & peanut butter anything!
Drink: Starbucks iced vanilla chai tea latte with coconut milk, Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper
Book: I LOVE to read, and can't choose just one. Thank goodness I have a Kindle! ;)
Movie: I LOVE movies, and some of my favorites are the Star Wars and Jurassic Park series! Harkins is our favorite theater to visit as a family.
I also love anything Disney-related!
