I am so excited to be a part of creating something amazing at Zaharis! This is my 5th year teaching in the STEAM center, where we have more opportunities than ever to design, engineer, build, and create. Every day presents new ways to challenge our students (and ourselves!) to grow, and I look forward to see what each one will bring!
Originally from Connecticut, I was transplanted to Arizona in junior high school. I attended ASU, where I received a BSE in Chemical Engineering. My 13-year career in the aerospace industry afforded me many opportunities to encourage children's early interests in the areas of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math. I served as a mentor for the Aviation & Aerospace Magnet Program at South Mountain High School and introduced kids to career opportunities in STEAM fields through the Arizona Science Center and Sally Ride festivals. I hold a career and technical education certificate in Industrial and Emerging Technologies.
My husband Jeff and I have been married for 15 years, and we have an 11-year-old son. Our family is always up for an adventure and enjoys skiing, DIY projects, playing music, reading and swimming.
