All About Me
I grew up in Cherry Hill, New Jersey (about 5 minutes from the Ben Franklin Bridge into Philadelphia) and lived there until I turned 18. I am the youngest of five children and can honestly say I love being a part of a big famly! I was involved in many activities growing up such as soccer, track, choir and theater. I focused my energy in soccer most of my adolescence and played up until college.
My best friend and I always talked about going to college together. She moved to Arizona with her parents when we were in elementary school, but we remained best friends through the years. When I graduated high school, Arizona was my first choice to continue my education. I attended ASU where I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education.I am currently pursuing a my Master's Degree for Accomplished Teaching, specializing in National Board Certification.
I was lucky enough to student teach at Zaharis and was hired immediately after graduating. I have been teaching in Mesa for almost 10 years. Prior to joining the Zaharis family, I worked in the field of Special Education for almost four years(as an in home habilitationist). I have experience with children of special needs specifically in the areas of cerebral palsy and the autism spectrum disorder.
I am a wife to Shane and mother to Leah and Phoebe. Leah was born May 7th, 2010 a healthy 5lbs 15oz baby. Phoebe was born July 2nd, 2013 a healthy 5lbs 14oz baby. They are the light of my life but I am returning to the classroom to continue my passion as a teacher. I absolutely LOVE my job and would have it no other way!
