Here is a little about me:
I was born and raised in southern Arizona. Growing up I lived on a small farm where we raised sheep, chickens, ducks, rabbits and had lots of dogs. We lived outside of town so I would spend a lot of time exploring the canyons, hills and desert. I developed a love for Arizona and the rugged beauty of our state. For field trips we would visit Tombstone where there was the famous gunfight at the OK Corral between Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday and the Clanton Gang. We would also visit Bisbee which was one of the largest producers of copper in the Old West. We visited the Queen Mine and saw how the miners lived and mined for copper. Through visiting different parts of Arizona and learning about its' and America's history, I developed a deep love for our country. I remember as a kid listening to stories of George Washington, John Adams, Patrick Henry, Abraham Lincoln and many other great and noble men and women who helped found our great country.
After high school I was able to travel around the country a little. I was able to see some of the beautiful country back East as well as into Montreal, Canada. My family moved to Denver, Colorado so I moved there and got to explore the gorgeous peaks and mountains there. My wife is from Mesa and we met through mutual friends. It was love at first sight so I moved down to Mesa to be with her. Once we were married we settled down here in the Valley.
In order to support my family and start a career I attended some community colleges, taking lots of history classes. Then I transferred over to University of Phoenix a graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Afterward, I continued on to get a degree in the field where my true passions are: education. It was a great experience to go through school and learn how to be a teacher. I was able to get my master’s degree in Elementary Education.
My wife and I have been blessed to have four wonderful boys and a special little girl. Our oldest, Ty, will be a Junior at Red Mountain High next year. Justin will be a Freshman at Red Mountain. They both will be taking a lot of technology, art and engineering classes. Our 3 youngest will be going to Zaharis with me this year. Caleb will be in 6th grade, Logan will be in 3rd grade and Alayna will be starting Kindergarten. While making sure we are all where we are supposed to be, my wife also does an amazing job teaching Sound Beginnings and Let's Play Music classes to children.
In my life I have many loves. I love my family, teaching and reading. My family is so important to me and everything I do revolves around being with and taking care of them. Teaching is my passion and I love it. It is such a blessing to be able to interact with great people every day. It is such a pleasure to watch people apply themselves, work hard and accomplish great works. When not spending time with my family or hanging out at school, I love to read. I love to read historical fiction, science fiction, westerns and fantasy. Some of my favorite books are: The Ranger's Apprentice series, The Chronicles of Narnia and anything written by Louis L'Amour.
