I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! Fifth grade is the best year ever! We get to do so many fun activities, including science camp and Day on the Prairie.  We learn all about the history of the United States, and we read the very best books ever!

I was born a reader, and I'm hoping that by the time your child leaves my class they will be as excited about reading as I am.  Some of my favorite books are: Harry Potter, Fablehaven, Where the Red Fern Grows, Walk Two Moons, and The Hunger Games. I also love reading adult novels and memoirs. If you have any great book suggestions, please send them my way!

I was born and raised right here in Arizona, and have two brothers and three sisters that are my best friends!  We all love to sing and perform, and we also enjoy exercising together.  My sisters and I have competed in three triathlons together, and I compted in the St. George Ironman in 2011.  (That's a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile run).  I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was 33...but I don't let it stop me!  I want to show everyone that they can accomplish whatever they set their minds to, no matter what!

I have been married for 17 years to Troy, and we have three beautiful children.  Cooper is 14 and is a 9th grader at Skyline High.  (I still can't believe I have a high schooler!) Carter is 12 and an 8th grader at Smith, and Brooklyn is 6 and will be in 1st grade here at Zaharis!  It's been so fun to always have my kids go to the school I teach at, and I really miss having my boys here.  We love to listen to books on tape, watch movies, swim, and just spend time together.
