Easter Pageant
Hi!
I just wanted to invite all of you to the Easter Pageant at the LDS Temple in Mesa. My whole family is participating in it this year, and we are so excited for this experience! For those of you who don't know what it is, "Jesus the Christ" presents the life, ministry, and mission of Jesus Christ through music, dance, and drama. What began as an Easter sunrise service on top of a cotton wagon, in 1928, has now become the largest, annual, outdoor Easter Pageant in the world. Today it has evolved into a full-scale, professional theater production, with a 9,600 sq. ft. stage, towering 4 stories high. It is a celebration of the resurrection of the Savior. The text is taken from the King James' version of the Bible, and is written and presented for all faiths, cultures, religions, and ages.
If you have never attended this event (and you celebrate Easter), you would absolutely love this opportunity! It is completely FREE, and is perfect for the whole family! My family has gone every single year (even when our kids were babies), and I went every year growing up. Being on this side of the pageant is a whole different experience and I see the incredible amount of hours put into this production, and am so excited to be a part of it.
Usually we bring blankets (because it gets cold at night!), we go early and bring food along to eat dinner. The show actually starts at 8 pm (when it's dark), and is only 65 minutes long. But I would go by about 6 to get seats. That's why we bring food and maybe some games to play with the kids. It's a great time to spend together as a family, and the perfect way to celebrate the Easter season.
If you do attend, please let me know what night you will be there because we walk around and talk to the audience before and after the show and I would love to see you!
