Fourth grade is a big year for math. It is so important that your student memorize their math facts this year. This includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. While we will work on this everyday in class, it is so important that they practice math facts everyday at home. You wouldn't believe how much easier math is for a student who has basic facts memorized.
You can do this by orally quizzing your child. It works great when you make it a game. One idea is every time you get in the car they need to tell you that 7 times 4 equals 28. Every time they get out, have them tell you that 9 times 6 is 54. Have a set of dinner facts, snack facts, and bedtime facts. Additionally, flash cards work great along with some of the websites listed below.
