A bit about me...
I was born in California and raised in Canada, the oldest of six children. My life was full of reading and figure skating, and I began crafts and sewing at a young age. When I began 2nd grade (I called it grade 2), I moved across the country to a new city, and I started my fifth school. I asked my parents if, the next time we took a vacation, we could go back to where we started. 2nd grade was hard for me at first. I was very shy and it took me a long time to make friends, but I did and had a great year.
I married my high school sweetheart, Rick, and we have seven wonderful children who continue to enrich our lives with pride, laughter, and grandchildren. We love to see our family grow. Six of our children are married, and the youngest just graduated from high school. We have 11 beautiful and amazing grandchildren. The 12th grandchild is coming in December! The sad thing is that last year almost all of them have moved away from Arizona.
After spending several years at home with my children, I returned to school and completed my bachelor's degree at ASU in Elementary Education. My husband surprised me with a 3 week trip to Austria and Italy as a graduation present. We have returned to Europe since and hope to go again soon. I returned to ASU to complete my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Language and Literacy and have my certification to teach English at the junior high level. I have continued to take classes since...I just love learning!

When I am not at school, you might find me curled up with a book (usually mystery, historical fiction, or something about teaching & learning), doing home renovations, traveling with my husband, or spending time with my kids and grandkids. They are the best! We love music, old movies...and new ones, too, going to the lake, camping, playing games, and eating good food together.
I look forward to getting to know you!
