Mrs. Marci Lang

This is my 21st year teaching sixth grade, and I still absolutely love it! At this age, kids are becoming more sophisticated, more thoughtful, and more independent. They have their own opinions, and are able to think critically and discuss deeply. They make my job fun and challenging, and there's no place I'd rather be!

I have a wonderful husband and two boys named Mason and Sawyer. Mason is in fourth grade at Zaharis and Sawyer is in first grade this year. I love to see them grow as learners at a school where they are nurtured, challenged, and inspired. My husband and I own several Edible Arrangements stores in the valley, although he does all the work. I just eat the fruit(preferably chocolate-covered)! When I do have free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, cooking, shopping, and trying out new restaurants.

I love teaching sixth grade at Zaharis. I've been here since we opened. I feel so lucky to teach in a place where the love for learning is so evident. Through literature, discussion, inquiry, and workshops, we spend our days in classrooms where academics are just as important as how we treat each other. I have very high expectations for my students and myself, and I work hard to make the learning both rigorous and joyful.
