Educational Websites

I've provided some websites that will provide you and your child with educational resources. Take some time to explore each site, and don't forget to have fun!

ReadWorks is a website that provides reading passages at various reading levels, and they provide a wide array of both nonfiction and fiction topics. The aspect that I love most about this website, is that they provide comprehension questions to most passages. It's also extremely user friendly. I pull a large majority of my reading comprehension assessments off of this website, so utilizing extra practice at home will help your child become familiar with the structure of the passages and questions.

To get started:

1. Visit the website:

2. Click on the Register tab at the top and create a profile.

3. From the home page, click on the Reading Passages tab at the top. This link will take you to the reading passages page, where you can search for passages. You can narrow your search by choosing the topic, grade level, reading level (100 is lowest, 1500 is highest), and fiction or nonfiction. Make sure to look for passages that have comprehension questions with them.

4. Have fun!

Funbrain is a fun, educational website that has a lot of fun games in all subject areas. The games are very interactive and they provide great practice with various concepts.

To get started:

1. Visit the website: Funbrain

2. Go to the middle of the home page and click on the Parent's Page link under the For Teachers heading.

3. Under Resources, you can click on games pertaining to each grade level.

4. Have fun!
