Miss Oh

Welcome!  I am so lucky to be your child's teacher this year.  My hope is that your child will have a memorable year filled with many learning experiences.

I was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to America when I was just a baby.  I lived in Chicago and Los Angeles but have lived in Arizona for most of my life.  I have a younger sister, who is also a teacher (she's always copied me ever since we were little!).  I also have a younger brother who is in high school.  I graduated from ASU with a BA in Elementary Education and NAU with an M.Ed in Educational Technology.  For the first two years of my teaching career, I taught sixth grade math at Webster Elementary.  Though my experience focused mainly on math, I absolutely love reading.  My favorite book (I read it at least once every year!) is Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montegomery.  This book is one of the reasons why I wanted to become a teacher. I have also taught 4th grade at Zaharis Elementary.

Besides reading during my free time, I also love watching movies with my husband.  We like to go to the movie theater as often as we can and when we're not watching movies, we're usually looking up healthy recipes to try at home (if you know any great recipes, please let me know!).  I also like hiking and playing with my two dogs, Winnie and Louie.  They're both Yorkies, but one is silver.

I love learning about the world around us and it is my hope that we will have many opportunities to do that this year.  I consider it a great privilege to be able to work with the best second graders I know.

Are you ready to learn?  I know I am!
