Because our classroom is a community, we share most of the following items at our tables. If you would like to contribute to the classroom community, the things you send in may be used specifically for your child, or they may be divided amongst the students or used by the class as a whole. The following list is prioritized in order of importance. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!
1 high-quality sketchbook (8.5" x 11"; spiral bound at the top)
Glue sticks (large)
Multicultural colored pencils (can be found on Amazon.com)
1 pair of child-sized Fiskars scissors
Optional, but much appreciated:
Target or Walmart gift cards (so that we can purchase items such as Kleenex, disinfecting wipes, paper towels, hand sanitizer, snack items, etc. as needed, rather than having to store them in the classroom throughout the school year). These funds will ONLY be used to provide necessary classroom materials, and any funds left over at the end of the year will be split and returned to the families who donated.
Essential Items: brought in on the first day of school
____ a backpack with your child’s name clearly marked (no rolling backpacks)
____ a labeled lunch box or lunch money (cash in a sealed/labeled envelope with your child’s name and room #8, or make checks out to Zaharis Elementary with your child’s name clearly marked on the check)
____ a full change of clothes, labeled (for accidents that occur) * Please place these clothes in a large Ziploc baggie where they will be stored in case of an emergency
____ children are welcome to bring a labeled water bottle from home
