First, the cafeteria is a big adjustment for kindergarteners. We are asking parents to come in for lunch to help with opening packages, etc. There will be a sign up sheet at Boot Camp and Meet the Teacher. It is difficult for the children to manage their time during lunch. They are learning to balance being social and finishing their lunch in a timely manner. I encourage your child to pack a lunch and not purchase a school lunch for the first few weeks of school. This will greatly help your child to have more time to eat.
MPS provides parents with a convenient, easy and secure online prepayment service to deposit money into your child’s school meal account at any time. This service also allows you to view your child’s account balance through a web site called MySchoolBucks.com. By having money in each child’s account prior to entering the cafeteria, we find the lunch lines move along much faster so your child has more time to eat and be with friends.
Steps to using the My School Bucks online service:
- Simply go to www.myschoolbucks.com
- From this site you will create your account and add money to your child’s school meal account. All you need is your child’s name and student ID number.
- There is a $2.49 service charge per prepayment.
