The district is co-sponsoring a writing contest to collect stories of resilience from employees and third- to 12th-grade students. Each winner will receive a $200 Amazon gift card and have their essay published in the Arizona Republic. Hurry, the deadline is Friday, Feb. 26.
Interested in becoming a teacher?
Are you a classified employee who loves working with children? Mesa Public Schools and Mesa Community College have partnered to offer current district employees a pathway to become a teacher. Watch your district email account this week for a link to complete a brief interest form. The form link will be open through Friday, Feb. 26.
Form 1095-C statements now available
By March 2, 2021, Form 1095-C, the employer-provided health insurance offer and coverage statement, will be mailed to eligible employees' homes. The form is available to download immediately on the benefits online enrollment system.
Visit the benefits website, click on the Benefits Enrollment System button. Log in by entering your district email address and active directory password. Select "Enroll now" then "View tax documents" on the left side of the webpage. You may see more than one statement on your portal. Be sure to download the most recent version listed.
You may find Form 1095-C helpful when filing your tax return, though you are not required to submit the form to the IRS. If you have additional questions about Form 1095-C or your taxes, visit the IRS website. All three medical plans offered by the district meet requirements of minimum essential coverage (MEC), mandated by the individual shared responsibility provision of the Affordable Care Act.
