MPS Curriculum & Instruction

—Community leader & enthusiast of the Arts —

Biography

Art has always been a passion of mine and I look forward to helping others discover their own potential and creativity. As a long-time member of the MPS community, I have a deep investment in the success and longevity of the Art programs within the district. I believe strongly in authentic leadership, where honest feedback, paired with honest intentions lead to meaningful connections and successful teaching & learning experiences. Through a deep understanding of state and national art standards, my goal is to facilitate the curriculum develop to further solidify the success of the Arts in Mesa Public Schools.

I hold a Masters degree in Human Relations, and a Bachelor's degree in Art Education, with a minor in ceramic studio arts from Northern Arizona University. Schools in my past have included Dobson High, Poston Jr. High and Mesa Jr., Mesa High, and Skyline High. I have been teaching Art for Mesa Public Schools since 2006 and happy to be the K-12 Visual Arts Specialist.

My work as a ceramicist has been exhibited at the Coconino Center for the Arts, NAU, and the water conservation center. Mural work is on continuous display in various homes, businesses, and schools around the valley.
