THEATRE EDUCATION
The theatre program in Mesa Public Schools is designed to provide interested students the opportunity to advance their understanding of how to create believable characters and expressive bodies in scene work. This understanding is gained through study of pantomime, improvisation, characterization, and short scene work. As a student’s ability increases, more advanced coursework is offered
In addition, students have the opportunity to increase their understanding and abilities in the technical aspects of the theatre. This includes work in lighting, sound, scenic design, and construction
Depending on interest and available resources, theatre classes are offered in the junior and senior high schools.
