Health Education

The school nurse does health education each year as listed below.  Other health programs may be presented by the nurse or other individuals.  If you have questions about the content of the programs, please contact the nurse.


Communicable disease education is given to each classroom from K to 6 grades.   The powerpoint presentation focuses on the best ways to prevent germs from spreading and how to keep the immune system strong and healthy.  Staying away from other people's blood is included in the talk.   

Growth and Development education for  5th and 6th graders is given.  Notices about the presentations are sent home with the students and parents are welcomed to come.  You must sign a consent form for child to be able to attend.


Dental Education in February-for the 1st graders-includes a demonstration on brushing teeth, good nutritional choices and they are given a toothbrush.
