We'd like to give a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Dobson's Drum Major Heather Rodriguez for being selected as one of the next Drum Majors for the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, and Taigen Williams for being offered a contract to march Tuba with The Academy! The Academy is a world class competitive drum and bugle corps based in Tempe. AZ.

David Lopez recognized as a Bronze level recipient for the Hispanic Heritage Foundation Youth Awards

Congratulations to David Lopez!  David was recognized as a Bronze level recipient for the Hispanic Heritage Foundation Youth Awards out of over 10,000 applications.  The Youth Awards honors Latino high school seniors across the nation who excel in the classroom and community and for their excellence in various categories including: Business & Entrepreneurship, Community Service, Education, Healthcare & Science, Media & Entertainment, and Technology & Engineering

Gold, Silver and Bronze recipients are selected in each category and receive a one-time grant to fund their college education or to fund a community service effort that tackles a social issue. Students are then positioned as role models in their community at local ceremonies with an audience of business leaders, elected officials, local organizations and our sponsors.

Dobson High School Student Chosen for Next Level in Prestigious Scholarship Program

David Lopez, a student at Dobson High School, has been named a Semifinalist for the 2019 class of the Coca-Cola Scholars Program.

1,896 high school seniors were selected as Semifinalists from a pool of 95,715 applications from across the country based on their academic excellence, leadership and service demonstrated in school and community activities. See the full list.

The Semifinalists are in the running for 150 college scholarships worth $20,000.

Dobson HS has incredible students and we love the opportunity to celebrate two students from each grade level plus two staff members each month at La Famiglia who generously sponsors this recognition.

The Spirit of Dobson Marching Band receives a Superior Rating and is headed to the Arizona State Marching Band Competition!

The Spirit of Dobson received a Superior rating and caption awards in the areas of Music Performance, General Effect, and Percussion Performance. They are currently ranked 5th in the state for division 2 and will be competing at the Arizona State Marching Band Championships at Arizona State University Sun Devil Stadium on Saturday, November 17th. Our performance time is 3:45pm.
