Welcome to Eagleridge Orchestra! I am happy to be here and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your student. Music is a wonderful skill-one that can bring opportunities and enjoyment for years to come.
I started my music education like most students-through elementary music classes. At age seven, I had the opportunity to start piano lessons. This was followed by violin classes in the fourth grade. My journey on the violin started off very rough. I hated practicing and luckily for me, I had a mother who insisted I continue my studies through the 6th grade and to not give up. It was during that 6th grade year, that I auditioned for, and made the Mesa Young People's Orchestra. I sat in the very back, but I enjoyed practicing and performing with that group. I continued on through Jr. High and High School and discovered that I loved playing. During my High School years, I was a member of the Showcase Strings at Westwood High School in Mesa, and had many performance as well as travel opportunities to California, New York, Washington, Virginia and Mexico City. I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Music Education. I started working for Mesa Public Schools and earned a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Northern Arizona University.
During my time with Mesa Public Schools, I have had the opportunity to teach Elementary General Music as well as Elementary and Jr. High Orchestra. I have served on the Curriculumn Commitee for music education and as Coordinator for the Mesa Young People's Orchestra and the Jr. High Festival Orchestra for many years.
I have played with Orchestras throughout the Valley and was a member of the Symphony of the Southwest for 10 years.
Currently, in addition to teaching at Eagleridge, I also maintain a private lesson studio where I teach violin, viola and piano lessons.
I enjoy reading, cooking, horseback riding, traveling, and playing with my Goldendoodle Grace!
