Social Networking
Popular social networks include YouTube, Facebook, Twitter & Instagram. Information that you share adds to your digital footprint.
Only post and "like" information and pictures online that you would want the world to see.
Even if you have strict privacy settings, once you post something online it is out of your hands and could become public and have unintended consequences.
Set your profile to private so that only friends can see what you post.
Only "friend" people that you know & trust in real life.
Protect your passwords, and always log out when using shared computers so other people can't post as you and influence your online reputation.

Sharing Digital Pictures
Sharing pictures is an aspect of the Digital Footprint that can be very damaging to someone's life. Explicit photos and videos that are sent to someone for private viewing can easily be shared with others. Once they are sent, they cannot be taken back. This can also have legal consequences and may result in felony or misdemeanor charges.
