Remote Teaching: Training & Support
Educational Technology, in conjunction with Special Education and Teaching & Learning, has created this professional learning portal to support your teachers and staff as we transition into phase 2 and 3 and begin our focus on remote teaching and learning for our students. This portal is designed to house tutorials, support resources, and professional learning course offerings around the tools and strategies your teachers will employ for online instruction (Webex, Canvas, Google Classroom, Gmail, Screencasting, etc.). This site will be updated daily as new resources are created to support the needs of your staff.
Webex Teams & Meetings
Webex Teams is set up for communication within Mesa Public Schools. This is where you will communicate with colleagues and administrators.
Webex Meetings is what you will use to connect with students and deliver content through video conferencing. Meetings is also a place where you can have a video conference with parents and others outside of Mesa Public Schools.
This EdTech support site contains video and written tutorials for effectively
leveraging Cisco Webex Teams and Meetings.
Special Education
The Special Education department has assembled a professional learning plan for K-12 SpEd teachers that works to augment several of the tools listed on this page as well as provides access to tools specific to their programs.

Clever - The Learning Dashboard
The Learning Dashboard, powered by Clever, is a place where students and teachers can log in to access academic resources and online productivity tools. The dashboard is customized for students as well as teachers. Links and images will vary depending on the courses in which students are enrolled and the school to which they are assigned.
Gmail
Gmail can be leveraged as a powerful communication tool in a remote learning environment. EdTech has compiled a number of resources to support your effective use of this tool.

Screencasting Resources
Screencasting makes it possible for teachers and students to create video presentations of slideshows, websites, documents and other items with voice-over narration, including the option of embedding one's webcam in the video.
Screencasts can be embedded or linked in Canvas or Google Classroom, making it easy for students to see and hear lessons.
Professional learning about creating screencasts is available through the online course Getting Started with Screencasting, which will be available soon for sign up in GROW.
