Welcome to Food & Nutrition

As our Mission Statement states, the Food & Nutrition Department is dedicated to supporting the educational process by providing nutritious, affordable meals to students. We strive to  provide students with access to a wide assortment of foods that are both appealing and nutritious. Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at our schools are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

2022-2023 School Year Meal Pricing Update

Why School Meals Are Not Free in the 2022-2023 School Year?
The USDA made it possible for school nutrition programs to serve all students free breakfast and lunch through waivers. Congress did not extend these waivers for the upcoming school year, so we will go back to regularly priced breakfast and lunch.

Please be sure to fill out a free or reduced-price meal application, which is currently available on the Meal Applications tab. You can also make online payments to your student's account through the Titan Family Portal.

2022-2023 Free and Reduced Meal Applications

Free and reduced meals are available to those families that qualify based on the Federal Eligibility Income Guidelines released by the USDA each school year. Meal applications are available online; paper meal applications are available at school offices, cafeterias and the Food and Nutrition Department offices at 143 S. Alma School Road, Mesa, Arizona 85210. To fill out an online application, please visit: https://www.mpsaz.org/food/meal-applications/

Families are encouraged to submit a school meal application for free or reduced-price meal benefits because this information may be used for other programs, such as Federal and State funding for your school, reduced registration fees for academic tests, free or discounted fees for athletic programs, discounted rates for internet service, and many more.

The application process, online or paper, can take less than 10 minutes to complete. It can take up to 10 business days to process your meal application.

It is not necessary to fill out a paper application if you have completed the online application.
