Ms. Katherine Otwell's Science Class

This is my 19th year of teaching. I've earned in Associate in Science, Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education, and a Masters of Education. My certification endorses me to teach science, language arts and reading. I have been licensed to teach science, language arts, reading and social studies in Florida. I am a member of Professional Association of Georgia Educators, Georgia Science Teachers Association and National Science Teachers Association. Some other responsibilities I have managed while teaching include:  7th grade co-chair, 7th grade science curriculum leader, textbook adoption committee, Beta Club co-chair, Solar Car Committee leader, garden club leader, chess club co-chair and SST Coordinator.

Teaching Philosphy

As a dedicated teacher I am willing to learn new ideas and concepts. I think it is important to focus on meeting the needs of students while raising the level of achievement for all students in my classroom. My hope is to find a teaching position in which I can inspire and enhance children’s learning.
