Duvia Ozuna - Attendance/Office Specialist

If your child is to be absent, please call the school office prior to the absence. The attendance phone number is 480-472-9221.

Please indicate the reason for your child's absence. State your name, child's name, teacher and/or grade level. Our school is required by law to call and verify the child's absence if we are not contacted by a parent or guardian. If your child is absent more than one day, please notify our office of each absence.

If children are absent without prior notice, the school will make reasonable efforts to notify parents within the applicable time periods prescribed by law.

Arriving on Time

Students learn responsibility by being present and on time to school each day. Please make sure your child arrives on time. Students who are tardy miss important directions, start the day behind in their work, interrupt the learning process of others, and establish poor habits for adulthood.

Since it is sometimes difficult for parents to know what happens between home and school, parents of students who are chronically tardy will be contacted by the school administration.

Students are tardy if they are not seated when the bell signals the start of class.

Leaving Early

Parents are responsible for providing advance notice when a child must leave during the school day for an appointment or other circumstance.

A parent or guardian may request that their student be picked up by another adult (over the age of 18). Please call 480-472-9221 at least 30 minutes prior to the desired release time. The person picking up the student must show ID and match the name given to the attendance clerk/office staff. The student will not be released without prior notification from the legal parent/guardian, even if the person is listed as an emergency contact.
