Biography

My name is Laura Diersen. I've lived in Arizona since 1992 and graduated from Red Mountain High School. Although I was born in Nebraska, and I love the Huskers, I grew up in Austin, Texas and have always thought of Texas as my home. Hook 'em Horns!  \m/

I am married to my best friend, and together we have 3 grown kids, a daughter and two sons. My daughter, Kristina recently got married. She has a business degree and is a Legal Assistant to a criminal attorney here in the valley. My son, Cooper works for a restaurant and is getting a degree in IT and Cybersecurity. My youngest son, Chase, also recently got married. He attended Lincoln Electric's Welding School in Cleveland, Ohio and now has his own profitable welding company along with my husband and my brother.

I obtained my Bachelor's of Elementary Education from Arizona State University. I also have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. I enjoy learning new things and believe that my students can teach me just as much as I can teach them.

This will be my 17th year teaching in the GUS Program. I began my teaching career at Taft Elementary, spent the majority of my years at Mendoza Elementary, and have now moved to Irving. Irving is a wonderful A+ school. I am honored to be teaching your children here. Thank you for sharing your most precious treasures with me! I look forward to a great year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Diersen
