Hi! My name is Carol McLane and I will be your child's first grade teacher this year. This is my 15th year teaching in Mesa. I am delighted to be teaching here at Johnson. Our classroom is lucky to house Henry (Johnson's comfort dog) throughout the day. Our classroom theme is Flamingos!

I am a proud product of Mesa
Public Schools. I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from ASU and my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from NAU. I hold a Reading Endorsement, Early Childhood Endorsement, and SEI Endorsement. I am currently in MPS's, Leadership Cohort 2. Throughout my teaching career I have had the opportunity to work in various classrooms; preschool through sixth grade, the library, and special education.

I was born and raised in Arizona and have a wonderful family. I have three younger sisters, an older brother, as well as 4 nieces and 3 nephews. When I am not working I enjoy hanging out with my family, cooking, taking Henry for a walk, and taking road trips.

Henry and I can't wait to meet you for Meet the Teacher Night, on Thursday, July 29th, from 4:30 pm- 5:30 in room 11. School starts on Tuesday, August 3rd this year. Hope to see you there!

I am looking forward to a fun and memorable year. Each child is unique and special. My goal is to create lifelong learners in a safe and positive learning community. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at cbmclane@mpsaz.org.

Love,
