BiographyNFL Play 60 Field Day: Miss Conrad and Big Red

My name is Mrs. Hammond (formerly Ms. Conrad). This is my 5th year teaching Physical Education at Kerr. I could not be more excited to continue my journey as part of the Kerr community. I believe physical activity is vital for the success of all students. Physical activity helps build healthy minds and bodies, which enable us to perform our best socially, emotionally and academically. Each day, I strive to stay active and model this for my students.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion from Arizona State University as well as my Master's in Physical Education at Arizona State University. While at Arizona State, I was awarded the Ron Lane Spirit of Teaching Award and the Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year Award for 2016. Last year I was awarded the Rookie P.E. Teacher of the Year by the Arizona Health and Physical Education Association, for me dedication to P.E..

At Kerr I am a member of: Running Club, Student Council, the Wellness Committee and PBIS Team. Students can look forward to Jump Rope for Heart, Walk On! Challenge, Turkey Trot, Reindeer Run, March Madness, NFL Play 60 Football day, and Track and Field Days during the 2020-21 school year. I represent Kerr as the Wellness Ambassador for Mesa Public Schools, and I serve on the Leadership Team.

In my spare time, I enjoy running marathons, soccer, traveling, reading, hiking with my dog Henry and spending time with family. Please feel free to watch and/or participate with your child during P.E. at any time.
