The Biotech program is a 2 year program of courses for students to learn hands on laboratory research skills.
The Biotech Academy is found only at Mesa High School and is a 4 Year STEM Focused Program for students interested in science or medical careers. The Academy includes internship opportunities for students as well as unique field trips, guest speakers and addition competition opportunities for scholarships and awards.
The Biotech Academy students visited Ireland for 10 days in the summer of 2010 at the invitation of Jackie Gorman, the CEO of the Atlantic Corridor in Ireland, to instruct Irish teachers and students in hands-on Bioscience STEM activities. We here at the academy that you for your support that allowed us to share hands on biotechnology and science research with 5th and 6th Class aged students throughout the Midlands of Ireland. We visited 9 schools in Tullamore and the surrounding area and shared several lab activities with hundreds of students.
