EN 56 Senior Multicultural Literature

Multicultural Literature places on emphasis on diverse texts that explore universal themes, as well as on how these cultures influence the readers’ world. As a class, we will analyze short stories, non-fiction pieces, poetry, novels, and memoirs. Students will learn literary terms, styles, and devices in order to enhance their understanding of a piece and to give them an appreciation for the literature of various cultures, perspectives, and mindsets. Writing activities will also be integrated in this course and may include argumentative, expository, narrative, and analysis modes for a variety of purposes and audiences.
